ABOUT AVNI
Hi! My name is Avni Godse and I have started a non-profit business where I sell my artwork to raise money to host events where those with disabilities and illnesses can come and express themselves through art and feel special, just like how I feel when I do art!
I started painting at a young age and as I grew older, I knew that I wanted to use my talent to help others.
The inspiration for my project came from some postcards that my grandpa had shown me when I was on a trip to India. The postcards had images of paintings that were done by people with no arms and instead they used their feet and mouths!
I was very amazed and inspired by the fact that even though these people had a disability, they followed their passion and made amazing pieces of art. That’s when I decided I was going to help people with disabilities and illnesses.
With all the money that I raise, I plan to run a number of pop-up events where those with disabilities and illnesses can come and express themselves through art and feel special, and I will also be donating a number of virtual reality headsets to Sick Kids Hospital to help relieve stress and anxiety for the children who become patients.
